PChome Thailand Co., Ltd. is a joint venture company between PChome Online (8044-tw) and Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited (CCET.TH) since 2015. Besides PChomeThai marketplace platform, it also provides payment service under the brand name of PChomePay, a.k.a PPay in Thailand. Holding two payment licenses from Thailand's Ministry of Finance can offer money acceptance services via credit card.
We initiate the project by conducting quantitative research with the marketing team to understand Thailand's social commerce landscape.
Thip (27)
Owner of ‘Fille Studio’ handbag shop
Thip loves fashion since when she was a kid. She used to own a small store slot at Jatuchak market selling her design handbags there, but she’s persuring Master’s Degree and it’s hard to manage physical store to fit to her education lifestyle. She now open stores online across different social media channels and uses them both for selling and marketing. At first she wishes to just reclaim the amount of order she sold when she has the physical store, but it turns out that the order doubles and things starting to get harder and harder for her by day.
We conduct a task analysis of social sellers in different social media channels to identify how they manage their sales through each platform.
Mapping out how social sellers manage sales in different channels allows us to see the common connection between each channel.
We then design an ecosystem of PPay to support social sellers in providing diversified payments ways to their customers, where payment links can be adaptable to individual and multiple product purchases.
“ Follow up orders, payments, and shipping to match with each customer is every social seller’s pain ”
“ Trust is still a major concern for social commerce for both sellers and buyers “
“ Repetitive task that have to do manually causing lost in sales opportuinities “
An automated centralized mobile application where social sellers can monitor sales throughout the payment journey.
We create a prototype to test out the idea of the scenario where customers click the payment link to purchase a product from the seller.
After initiating a rough prototype, we tested with five users to verify our initial ideation.

This illustration shows the usage of PPay from the seller creating the payment link to the buyers purchasing the product.
Sellers that use PPay can create a payment from the product they want to sell and track orders for their customers.
Buyers can purchase the product by seeing the product details and choosing their preferred payment methods through the link.
